We’re always on the lookout for sustainable brands that offer cute items with accessible pricing. Keep reading to check out some of UThrift’s favorite ethically-made brands, from cheapest to pricier selections.

Mahima’s Favorites:

Studio.seven.designs

  • An Instagram based small business with small-batch, handmade, linen inspired clothing. Follow their Instagram to learn more about their website, creative process, and new releases!

Girlfriend Collective

  • Miami means heat, heat means comfort, and this campus is all about activewear. Girlfriend Collective is dedicated to producing ethically made activewear, including those matching sets, with prices comparable to Lululemon or Alo.

Website:

Rat Boi

  • An LA based brand that designs and creates sustainable basics - which are needed to cultivate a versatile wardrobe. Actions like smaller production runs allow them to minimize waste. Their dedication to keeping their clothing ethically made runs deep. Check them out!

Speltham

  • A British based brand that hand makes loungewear in their factory in North London. Striped basics for a trip to the beach, a walk in the city, or sitting at home.

Skylar’s Favorites:

Pact

  • Pact promotes sustainable strategies, as they use organic farming and organic materials. This brand puts the people first and is sustainability certified. Pact is also committed to being carbon neutral and following fair trade, to encourage safe working conditions and community support.

Tentree

  • Tentree believes that big changes start small - and that’s why they choose to produce sustainable clothing. For every purchase made, Tentree plants a tree in order to help regenerate the ecosystem while producing jobs globally. All clothing is created with an Earth-First approach, meaning that all items are made only from sustainably sourced and recycled materials.

Patagonia

  • Patagonia is a well-known brand that encourages and promotes sustainability in a multitude of ways. One component of their company, “Patagonia Action Works”, allows people to locate nearby environmental groups to increase access to sustainability resources. Another great feature on their website is the choice to buy used clothing as opposed to buying fast-fashion or retail.

AllBirds

  • Allbirds specializes in sneaker production, and aims to create a comforting shoe while also being sustainable. They replace petroleum-based synthetics with natural alternatives in efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.

Haley’s Favorite Marine-Related Brands:

SilverFinCo.

  • This company makes handmade, affordable, and beautiful ocean-themed jewelry. The jewelry is sourced and crafted by people with a passion for the ocean, who dedicate both time and effort to shark conservation. All shark teeth are collected from off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico by SCUBA diving! The jewelry itself is waterproof, weatherproof, and extremely durable! (Personally tested and tried it myself!) SilverFin also makes coastal girl aesthetic clothing for all the beach lovers.

4Ocean

  • Looking for new arm candy? 4Ocean handcrafts stylish bracelets and other jewelry in Bali, Indonesia, by local artisans. The materials are derived from oceanic plastic debris, recycled stainless steel, and glass beads verified by GreenCircle Certified. Profits go to pulling more trash from coastlines, oceans, and freshwater sources to save our planet from plastic pollution. The also make shirts, hoodies, hats, and other various “sustainable swaps.” Our favorite aspect of this company is getting to choose a bracelet based on a marine animal!
